This is Adelaide's beach side resort suburb, and it was also the beachhead for the establishment of the colony of South Australia, in the early 1800's.
Long white,sandy beaches, that are clean and safe, are enjoyed by tens of  thousands of visitors here each year.
Main shopping and attractions are very central in Glenelg.
The Shopping  is stretched along Jetty Road. It is a mix of, hotels, fashion stores, supermarkets, souvenir shops, funiture stores, newsagents, banks, film labs, cafe's, restaurants, in fact there is an almost endless variety.
There is a couple of good butchers and greengrocers located here also.
At the very western end of Jetty Road is a hotel and resort complex called  The Grand. 
Within this Hotel there are a variety of restaurants with completely different styles and themes. There is also a variety of bars.

There is also the Town Hall Wine bar and a nice cafe downstairs.

Don't miss a visit to Rodney Fox's Shark Museum and the Interpretive Center located in the Heritage Town Hall.
